September 20 is World Cleanup Day
Several schools in Hualngoram (in Chin State, Myanmar) joined together to learn about the importance of keeping our communities clean. Students attended lectures and then went outdoors with their teachers to collect trash in the neighborhood.

ミャンマー、チン州ホゥアルンゴラム地域のいくつかの学校では、地域をきれいに保つことの大切さを学ぶ授業が行われ、生徒たちはその後、先生と一緒に外へ出て、近隣のゴミ拾いをしました。
Waste management in Hualngoram
According to Kima, head of HPO Education, Hualngoram is still an underdeveloped region where knowledge about waste management is limited. Many villages have poor disposal practices, and there are no strict laws on garbage. In most villages, community leaders do what they can, while in towns, the municipal department and youth groups provide some support.
Recycling is not available, though some families reuse plastic bags and bottles for storage. Churches, NGOs, and schools occasionally organize educational events, but their impact remains small.
ホゥアルンゴラム地域でのゴミ処理
HPO教育オフィスの代表キマによると、ホゥアルンゴラムはまだ開発が進んでおらず、ゴミ処理に関する知識も限られています。多くの村では処理方法が不十分で、厳しい法律もありません。村ごとにリーダーができる範囲で対応しており、町では市の清掃部門や青年グループが一部支援をしています。
リサイクルは行われていませんが、家庭ではビニール袋やペットボトルを再利用して物を保存するなどの工夫も見られます。教会やNGO、学校が時折こうした教育活動を行っていますが、その影響力はまだ小さいのが現状です。
