Between February 1, 2021 and March 15, 2022, a total of 7,248 homes were set on fire in Burma by the military junta and its affiliates, according to Data For Myanmar, a research group on the military and its aftermath.

General Zaw Min Tun, a spokesman for the military council, responded that the burning of civilian homes was not their fault but the work of PDF groups. But locals who lost their homes in the blaze said it was the work of military council troops and Pyu Saw Htee groups.
