The number of civilian deaths since the military coup in Myanmar (February 1, 2021) reached 2,000 on June 22, 2022 according to AAPP ( Assistance Association for Political Prisoners), a non-profit human rights organization based in Thailand that has been updating the data everyday. The latest numbers as of June 27 are 2,032 killed, 11,241 detained.

Each update comes with a photo in the background of one of the victims. On the day it reached 2,000, it was Ma Thei Ei Ei Win from Yesagyo Township in Magway Region, who died in custody on Jun 10, 2022.
