米の配布をスムーズに行うため協力してくれたキリスト教牧師のSaya Htet Paingのインタビューが届きました。
Here is an interview with Pastor Saya Htet Paing, who has helped us in distributing the rice smoothly.

Living in a squatter’s neighborhood with the people

Hello everyone, my name is Htet Paing.  Being a Christian missionary in this area, I’m called Saya Htet Paing. (Saya=a title for males used with respect to teachers, pastors, doctors, etc. / Sayama for woman)

I have received the love of God since 2004 and since then I have sympathy for the poor people living in this squatter’s neighborhood.  There are many households living in this area, thousands of them.  It is divided into 6 Blocks.  I am currently living in Block 6 which is divided into 3 parts.  My house is in part 1 of Block 6.

皆さんこんにちは、私の名前はHtet Paingテット・パインです。 この地域でキリスト教の宣教師をしているので、Saya Htet Paingと呼ばれています。(Sayaサヤ＝男性の称号で、尊敬の念を込めて教師、牧師、医師などを呼ぶ/ 女性の場合はサヤマ）

2004年に神の愛を受けて以来、この不法占拠地域に住む貧しい人々に共感しています。 この地域には多くの世帯が住んでおり、その数は数千にも及びます。 6つのブロックに分かれていて、 私は現在、ブロック6に住んでいます。ブロック6は3つの区画に分かれていていて、私の家はブロック6の区画1にあります。

Exchange cards for smooth distribution

Last time, the rice was donated in this area, part 1of Block 6.  After that I prayed to my God, Jesus, for donors to donate to the poor people regardless of their race or religion. God answered my prayer and gave us donors.  I am so thankful.

For the last donation, I made cards and put stamps of the administration office and distributed them ahead of time to all the households who would receive the rice.  There are about 500 households alone in part 1 of Block 6. Because of the cards we distributed ahead of the donation, the donation was done smoothly and efficiently. Not a single household was left out.  

After the donation was made in part 1 of Block 6, I prayed that donors could help part 2 and 3 of this Block and God answered my prayer. Part 2 of Block 6 was able to receive rice. This time, I made a church stamp, and used it in making the distribution cards. 

前回お米が寄付されたのは、このブロック6の区画1でした。その後、イエス様に、人種や宗教に関係なく、貧しい人々に寄付をしてくれる人を求めて祈りました。神様は私の祈りにこたえてくださり、寄付してくださる方が現れました。 とても感謝しています。

米を配布する前に、引換用のカードを作り、管理事務所のスタンプを押して、お米を受け取る全世帯に配りました。 ブロック6の区画1だけでも約500世帯あります。事前に配布したカードのおかげで、配布はスムーズかつ効率的に行われました。米をもらいそびれた世帯は1世帯もありませんでした。

ブロック6の区画1で配布が行われた後、同じブロックの区画2と3も支援してもらえますようにと祈り、神はその祈りに応えてくださいました。ブロック6の区画2も、お米を受け取ることができました。今回は、教会のスタンプを作って引換券に押印しました。

I have a wife and God has given me 5 children.  The first 2 born are boys the rest are daughters.  The father of my two nephews went to be with God so, I took them in with their mother and I am now taking care of them, too.  My mother is living with us and she is 90 years old.  My mother-in-law is living with us too, she is a widow and she is about 60 years old.  So, there are more than 10 family members in our family.

私には妻と、神様が与えてくれた5人の子供がいます。 最初に生まれた2人が男の子で、残りは娘です。 甥っ子2人の父親が早くに神様に召されてしまったので、彼らの母親と一緒に引き取り面倒を見ています。 90歳になる私の母と、60代で未亡人の義理の母も一緒に暮らしています。 ですから、私には10人以上の家族がいます。

Race or religion does not matter

There are about 70-80 church members, but I have been praying to be able to help/donate to whoever possible. It doesn’t matter whether they are my church members or not. Their race or religion does not matter.  

I give my heartfelt thanks to all the donors and I pray that God will bless all of you as the bible says, “A man reaps as he sows.” May God bless them with health, long lives, abundant wealth and may God be pleased with them.

教会のメンバーは70～80人ほどですが、誰もが援助・寄付が受けられるよう祈ってきました。教会のメンバーであるかどうかは関係ありません。人種や宗教も関係ありません。 

寄付してくださった方々に心から感謝します。聖書にある「人は自分が蒔いたものを刈り取る」という言葉のように、神様が皆さんを祝福してくださることを祈ります。皆様に健康、長寿、豊かな富が与えられ、神さまが喜んでくださいますように。
