“My name is Mon Mon Chaw and I am 26 years old. I have one child, and my husband sells ice-cream. We used to live next to the road but our house was destroyed and we were forced to move out. We now stay here on this land owned by another person. ”
「私はMon Mon Chaw、26歳です。 子供が一人、夫はアイスクリーム売りをしています。 以前は目の前の道路沿いに住んでいたのですが、家を壊されてしまったので、今は他の人が所有しているこの土地に住まわせてもらっています。」
”Last night it started to rain at 2 in the morning. We could not sleep and we sat at a corner the whole night using an umbrella. (*At that time, there was hardly any roof.) The next morning, we were very tired but could not sleep because we had to repair the house. We borrowed zinc sheets from other people for this roof. If the rain continues, it will be impossible to continue to live here since we practically have to sleep on the ground.”
「昨日の夜は、夜中の2時に雨が降り出しました。 眠れなくて、一晩中隅っこに座って傘をさしていました。 （*前夜、今の屋根はなかった）翌朝はとても疲れていたけど、家を修理するまで寝られませんでした。この屋根は、ある人から亜鉛板を借りたものです。このまま雨の日が続けば、ここに住み続けるのは不可能だと思います。ほとんど地べたで寝なければならないので。」
