Introducing the 3rd family of the Dalah House Project
My name is Thein-Gyi. I am 31 years old. I have 2 children, a boy and a girl. My husband is a fisherman. When he sets out on a fishing trip, he is away for about 2 months.
Recently, the government destroyed our house and forced us to move, so we are now staying here temporarily on other people’s land.
Our roof is just sala-bags.
(Note: Sala bags are used to contain food like rice, beans, etc. It is not waterproof.) There’s a hole right there. So, when it rained the other night, we all got wet. I made one of my children sleep on my lap and the other lay down in one conor. We don’t have umbrellas. There is no water either. We have to go to the pool and carry it back here.
